Did anyone get any Mclaren F1 related Christmas presents?

I got off the wife In-Car Sportscar Experience DVD, the one with #22R on the cover. It shows, through the eyes of [mainly] Mclaren GTR's, on board laps around Silverstone, Jarama, Monza, Nurburgring, Spa and Anderstorp.

I am now trying to obtain more DVD's in the sales

So, did you get any F1-related presents?

Re: Did anyone get any Mclaren F1 related Christmas presents?

I had hoped against hope that the McLaren that was sold at RMAuctions was secretly purchased by my wife as my Christmas dream gift.

http://www.zimbio.com/McLaren+Formul...ORD+HIGH+PRICE

The McLaren is always on the list, but since this is the 26th and there is not a McLaren sitting in my garage, that is was most likely someone else who bought it . She was probably not able to find a bank to rob that had that much money (they've all gone belly up). Oh well. I guess I'll have to wait impatiently until Minichamps builds the 1/12 McLaren. I suspect that it'll be out sometime early in 2011. As a matter of fact, I didn't even get the M3 that was on the list. Hmmm! and I thought she loved me.

Re: Did anyone get any Mclaren F1 related Christmas presents?

I got a new calendar with images by Ron Kimball that includes this shot of XP4 and it includes a similar head-on shot of F50 GT #001 as well:

This is the caledar if anyone is interested, but the Amazon price is much higher than the $12.99 listed on the back cover, so you may be able to find it cheaper some place else.

Also, after keeping it in an oversized poster tube for 5 years, I FINALLY got this professionally framed:

The print is fairly large, at 34in x 30in and I went with no matte since it has a pretty wide area of white all around it, and chose a steel-blue frame made of metal. I'll snap some photos of mine when I hang it up.

For those not familiar, the print is signed by Peter Stevens, Gordon Murray & Colin Curwood and mine is #342/500. To say that I LOVE IT, would be understating my feelings for it.

Re: Did anyone get any Mclaren F1 related Christmas presents?

No F1 related presents this year, from any of my relatives, .

But I did manage to buy myself a copy of this extremely rare video just before Xmas as a present to myself , after a very long nine year wait.

All I can say after viewing the content is, its like a live version of Driving Ambition. Cannot see what all the fuss was about it being pulled though.
Something I will add, is that just over half of the video is McLarens own footage, very interesting unseen before coverage of development. Great hour long vid opcorn:

Here are a few screengrabs,

Enjoy.

Merry Xmas and a happy new year to all forum members

I think somebody mentioned that that was for show purposes, but I'm not positive.

It just occured to me, are there any street legal longtail GTR's?
I guess the '95-'96 would be more practical, but they did make 10 longtails.

Fancy doing me a copy on DVD? Cheque if you're in the UK or through PayPal if you aren't?

Seriously though, that is a shame. It must be nice driving one of those (until you have to navigate a parking garage). I'm suprised nobody has done it yet, they've all been retired from racing.

There is also the bonus of not having to answer another thread about the differences between the LM's and the GTR's.
