87 S-10 blazer 4wd

I have an 87 s10 blazer with 4wd. When i shit into 2 wheel high or low the transfer case engages, but I still do not have 4wd. The front tires don't turn.

Is the front drive shat locking in?
Is front axel locking in?

207 or 231 transfer case?
Shift buttons or lever in floor?

Re: 87 S-10 blazer 4wd

Lever on floor not sure if the front axle or driveshaft is locking in according to the ownersmanual i should be able to shift into 4 wheel high while moving so i am guessing the front axle is engaged all the time. Unfortunaley i do not know the tranfercase number.

Man screwed this post up LOL i am guessing the front driveshaft is alwasy engaged as i can shift from 2wheel high to 4 wheel high while driving. as to the front axles, parts people list them as halfshafts i assume they are not turning as i have no 4 wd

Re: 87 S-10 blazer 4wd

Put it in 4 W
Jack up front end and check front drive shaft for locking in.
Then check front axel for locking in right front axel.
Holding left wheel the right axel shaft/wheel should be locked in.
Is it locked in?

Re: 87 S-10 blazer 4wd

thanks for the help turns out the vacuum line vibrated off of the actuator so the axles wouldn't lock. Must have been loose and with all the bumpy roads out here just fell off.
