Using tin foil for blown fuse?

I kept blowing the 7.5A fuse for my heater, so i wrapped it in tin foil and stuck it back in. Now it smells like something is burning inside the car but i can't really tell where its coming from...is using tin foil to replace a fuse bad?

Yes, the fuse is there for a reason. If it keeps blowing, you have other problems you need to address. Since the fuse cannot pop now, the issue will fail somewhere else. From what it sounds, it is melting the wires somewhere down the line. You need to track the electrical issue down, before severe damage occurs.

YES IT IS A BAD IDEA!

Remove it immediately, look at your fuses, should tell you what the 7.5A protects, check that its grounded properly, operating as it should, etc.

If you continually blow the fuse, you've got electrical issues and needs to be addressed immediately so you dont set your car on fire.
