Question Neverending belt squeak - yellow fluid - a/c leak?

This leak is not green (my rad fluid is green for sure).... it is a definitive YELLOW and even shows up as such on colored (colored meaning any other color, but black cause I don't wanna offend any black people - -) clothes.

The tube or tubes seems to trace back to the accumulator and is just before the radiator fluid cap right behind the passenger headlight. It does not always leak and when I find it wet its just enough to coat the hose there in that spot. I inspected the hose(s) there and at least one of them has noticeable cracking which I'd rate as "bad" cracking. Its not enough to spew flowing, but it definitely seems like at highest pressure it would seep out.

I am HOPING for the love of GOD that this solves my squeaking belt which I am on BELT 3 NOW and mostly ALL new pulleys. The other day I cleaned it thoroughly with HOT soapy water and it went away for a while, but as it ran seemed to come back slowly over time. I do use the A/C on and off right now too, cause during winter here, the South doesn't know if it wants to be cold or hot outside.

My main reason for asking is I don't believe that radiator fluid flows through the a/c system for any reason right? I just want to be sure its what I'm thinking (freon oil) that traces back to the accumulator .... reason I'm wondering about the radiator connection to a/c is cause I see the hoses go down below and I can't trace to where.

This would mark the 2nd leak I have found near the belt (I really wish someone would've put a belt cover over the S-belt in our Windstars). The first leak was from radiator fluid spewing from under the cap cause the overflow reservoir tube was clogged.

Now I'm just wondering about this hose cause to me it seems like a special setup and I just had the a/c system recharged not very long ago at all.

Yes, Merry Christmas. FUN FUN!

If your A/C needed recharging, then it leaked someplace.
That would be the indication of a leak....needed to add to it.
I do not know what color the oil in the A/C system is.
I do know that once any oil material gets onto the belt.....it is downhill from there.....as you are experiencing.
The power steering fluid would be red, as it is ATF, as long as the correct fluid has always been used.
If it is absolutely different color than the coolant.....there are not any other possibilities that I can think of in that area.

Most likely what you are seeing is a dye that has been added to the AC refrigerant to help identify the kind and location of any leaks. Cars often now come with the refrig that way from the factory, and shops like to use the dyed refrig for easier leak detection. The dye also is UV sensitive so that with a black light it is more visible and even more so with yellow glasses on. I wouldn't be surprised the ac oil is giving you your belt problems. Yeh man, MAJOR MEGA DITTOS!!!

LOL ROFL - there it is again...... Major Mega Dittos! Salute.

I have a blacklight I might be able to dig out. I'll try that.

Are the yellow glasses special or just yellow tinted? My dad has some yellow glasses, but I know there's nothing else special about'em. He didn't get'em for a/c usage.

Glad to be so entertaining for someone whose vehicle has driven him and his father to the point of torching it!!!
I'd say I might do that too. That's crazy what you've been through with it. I think mine would have several caved in panels and broken glass if I had to do all of that myself!!! : I gotta give you credit for sticking with it so well and long!!!

I found the yellow glasses weren't absolutely necessary as that stuff is visible with regular light and glows with the blacklight, making it much more visible. The glasses just help filter out (I think that's right) some the light spectrum to make it a little better to see. Besides, the ones that came with my dye leak test also double as safety glasses, which is nice to keep the crap out of ones eyes. Since lately I'm wearing glasses, I didn't bother with the yellow ones, but I did try them to see what sort of improvement they made. You may want to look for the leak soruce and then wipe everything down, clean it up totally, then run ac to pinpoint the source.

Do you know if the mechanics had disconnected the ac for your multiple transplants? The book says you don't have to, but I would think with all that jerking around, something could have been loosened or damaged. If so, shouldn't this be their problem? If you can pinpoint and determine the cause of the leak, you may be able to then have then make it right, as that was part of what you paid them to do.

Hope you can get all of this crap sorted out sooner than later. I'm sure you'd think MAJOR MEGA GIGA DITTO that!
