A very lound noise

Today while I was driving home I heard a lound nosie it sound like grinding or a scraping so I pulled off the road to see if I had blown a tire .

All the tires were good so I drive home hearing this nosie comming from the rear right side .

It only made that noise when I would go but it wouldn't do it if the car came to a stop.

It' a 1994 tbrid 3.8 non superchared./ daily driver

Oh when I looked under the car I did not see any broken parts or missing

Re: A very lound noise

It's probably time for new brakes so have them checked ASAP. I don't know if you have drum or disc brakes on your year car. The grinding/scraping sound could be a brake pad/shoe worn down to metal that it is rubbing against the rotor/drum (metal to metal). Another possibility is rust built up on the rotor or drum that is rubbing against the dust cover/backing plate. The next likely culprit is a wheel bearing. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
