I really only use the pliers, especially like the water pump types, I have them in 4 sizes and bought the wife her own set for around the house.

I have 2 pair of the GL-12 Griplocks and they work well for gripping on nuts and bolts and even some pipe applications. I also have the other style that have a similar v-shape to them I think they called A222 or A221 model and ive found that they suck for every application ive tried them on. example gripping & tightening fasteners and pipe, holding/pinching materials together.

I have been a Channellock fan for years but I have noticed that the quality has slipped a bit over the years where Klein has not. I own at lease 15 pairs of various Channellock pliers and if you put a 25 year old pair next to a newer pair you can definitely tell the difference.
