Engine Codes

I just bought a used 2001 325i with 92,000 miles on it. The "check engine soon" light is on. Also, there are times when the engine idle is rough and I lose some power. I am concerned that it might be the timing belt but my mechanic says it's not. He hooked it up to his computer and got the following codes. He does not know (yet) what they mean and we are trying to find out:

202 Bank 1 Control Limit
203 Bank 2 Control Limit
228 Bank 2 Control Deviation
227 Bank 2 Control Deviation

Does anyone know what these codes mean? I can also be reached at [email protected]

THANKS!

Re: Engine Codes

Don't have any late engine code info for you. But you do not have a timing belt. BMW got rid of that crap years ago & went to chain drive for the cams.

I dropped off the car this morning. He said he found out it probably has to do with the gas mixture sensor or something like that. Any tips on how to keep a 3-series in good care with 93K miles on it would be appreciated. It actually runs great. THANKS!
