GM Intake manifold gaskets

Hello,
I'm looking at buying a 98 suburban 5.7 w/ 123000 miles. The engine was rebuilt due to the manifold gasket failing. The owner claims the new engine was assembled wit GM gaskets. My question is did gm upgrade their gaskets to make them similar to the ones offered by felpro?

Re: GM Intake manifold gaskets

As far as I know GM still uses the plastic/rubber gaskets.
But age and mileage take a toll on them.

Thanks. That truck wasn't as advertised anyway. Owner claimed engine was rebuilt yet it was leaking oil all over the place and he had no receipt to back up his claim. On to the next one

Re: GM Intake manifold gaskets

You are welcome.
Rule no 1 always check them out.

A lot of people put a just rebuilt tag on just about anything.

Good luck on finding a good one.
