leaking radiator fluid
my 98 windstar is leaking radiator fluid from a "y" shaped metal pipe coming out of the water pump. i think its a heater hose. i tried to patch it up with waterweld and it worked for a little while then started leaking again. does anyone know where i can get that part? i cant find it anywhere.

Re: leaking radiator fluid
Dealership and junk yard. Have you tried online? Where is it leaking? Right at the crotch where it splits or at the base? Those metal epoxies work best when you have it pristine, say with brake cleaner, and scuffed up with coarse sandpaper. I wouldn't expect an RTV sealant to take the pressure, though there is an automotive version of GOOP that might work, but again, it needs to be well prepared. If it is leaking where the hose joins it, cut the pipe and connect that or a new hose with hose clamps.

Re: leaking radiator fluid
Hmm, did you try Rockauto.com, Fordparts.com, or some variation of that of online Ford parts dealers? Did you try Napa, Carquest, Federated. I'm not surprised if AA and AZ don't have it.

Re: leaking radiator fluid
I had the same problem with my windstar. Had to replace to lines going to the pump, and the pump itself because they were rusted on. Total cost including labour 497.00. Seems like a common problem with Windstars.
