2000 SUburban high beam issue

The driver side high beam stopped working a few weeks back. Bought a new bulb but it wasn't the problem. There is no power at the fitting that plugs into the light. I traced the wire back as far as practical and can't see any nicks or exposed wire. FUses are fine. I am afraid that this problem is going to be caused by the wiring harness near the steering column that I have read about on other threads. Anyone have any ideas?

You have to have a bad spot in the wire. The left hi/low are fed from the same fuse. The high beams are both grounded together.

I'm just about due to do another oil change and tire rotation so I will try once again to trace the line. Thanks.
