Engine Tap

My 2004 Dodge Ram Started making a tapping noise last night as soon as I started it. It has been somewhat colder. However, this morning it was not as cold and still tapping. After a little while the tapping got quieter but still tapping. I checked oil, put in a quart, it was still tapping in city driving, but driving for few minutes on freeway it stopped. The same thing last night before I put oil in it. Tapping in stop and go traffic, then once I was able to get to freeway speed, it stopped after a while.

Re: Engine Tap

I had a Bravada that did that every winter and an oil change fixed it...10W-30.
