92 civic dx will not start
I am on R&R from Iraq right now, I leave in the morning but will check back on the responses i get from this. here is the deal, the car has been sitting for like 6 months since i left, I go to crank it and it fires then sputters out...ever since then it has not fired again, motor keeps turning and turning and nothing after that. I ended up killing my battery and had to go get it recharged. I get no results, sounds like the damn thing is turning over faster than usual and this has me concerned it is the timing belt. I am also concerned it could be the fuel pump(which i replaced a couple year back after my last deployment when it was acting up) I do not here the fuel pump kick on when i turn the key on so i also think it may be the relay. I have a relay on order just in case but right now I want to check to make sure I get a few more opinions before I have someone tear into my motor. Thank you guys for your time

Re: 92 civic dx will not start
if the problem continues, i am just going to go forward with a swap anyhow. the motor needs a rebuild and if you look at the cost of that as compared to replacing the engine it honestly makes more sense to look into replacing it rather than having to have someone rework the motor and possibly screw it up.
if the car hasn't been sorted in a month or two then it's off to the shop

Re: 92 civic dx will not start
The Main Relay is very common to go out on these cars. On yours it is on the left side under the dash by the fuse box. It should click when you turn the key. Also check to make sure that the ignition switch is good. You should have dummy lights on the dash when the key is turned to the "on" position. If not then it is bad. If all that checks good then proceed to check power at the pump.

Re: 92 civic dx will not start
checked the ignition, no click sound or anything. dummy lights come on the dash just fine. being there is no click and there is no sound coming from the pump...it is probably the relay.
