Grand caravan 1996 – horn problem

Good day

Have problem with the car horn . It works when the engine off , some times works when driving , and some times works for a few minutes after staring the engine while driving .
The airbag light and the cruse control light are o.k
The fuses looks o.k
The seat belt light will not come on when taken off while driving or engine on
What could be the problem?
Please help

Re: Grand caravan 1996 – horn problem

Body control module (BCM), clockspring, horn relay, horn switch, wiring connecting them. If you have and can use a multimeter you'll quickly find the problem and please your neighbors. If not and you want to throw parts at it, go with the relay first. It's on the junction block under the dash. Try reseating it first.

By the way - if this turns out to be the clockspring, it has a special lifetime warranty. Yes, though less likely, just the horn can be effected by a bad clockspring.

THANKS FOR THE REPLY.
FORGET TO ADD THAT I DO HEAR A CLICK WHEN PRESSING ON THE HORN BUT NO SOUND.
I WILL TRY TO USE THE MULTIMETER BEFORE CALLING THE DEALER , BUT WHERE TO START.

THANKS

Open the free online service manuals thread at the top of the forum. It will lead you to the OPLIN ARRC manuals. There you'll find a schematic for your horns. It takes a group of clicks to get there but, it's there.
