major problem
ok my car has done this twice and i think i might know what it is and am going to get it checked out tomorrow. Yesterday and today i was in (3rd and 5th respectively) and pushed the pedal down to pass and the revs went up quickly like it was in neutral and i left off quickly and pushed again and all was fine. Would this be a sign of trans fluid being low... and if anyone is gonna ask I"M SURE MY FOOT WASN"T ON THE CLUTCH... lol i just somebody would ask..

Re: major problem
Its a manual so low fluid has nothing to do with slippage.
It sounds like the clutch is toast.

Re: major problem
I agree with Stealthee on this. Sounds like the clutch is just starting to slip under more stress. My guess is if you went out and drove it spiritedly you find yourself smelling a burning clutch.

Re: major problem
The clutch is only like 6 months old 3-4,000 miles i'm gonna be real pissed if it goes out its got a warranty but f*ck by the time i have it replaced.. that did remind me when it does this i do smell clutch/transmission... begining to think i should just part her out again...

Re: major problem
Was the clutch broken in properly? If not, the clutch can form a "glaze" over it which will cause it to slip. However, this can start to disappear after driving it regularly for another so many miles. If that is the case, you could be looking at, at least a couple hundred more miles before the glaze disappears.

Re: major problem
easy way to tell if it's a burnt clutch, go up a hill.
didn't you add new turbo's or something? maybe the clutch isn't capable of handling the stress of the power.

Re: major problem
turbos aren't yet on its in the plan i've got everything i need but them and a/f but none of it is on just a open air filter and boost controller that have been on since the day the clutch went in stage 2 excedy and when i got up a hill just regular doesn't do it but one of the time i described i was going up a hill.

Re: major problem
The clutch should have no problem whatsoever handling the power of your car. Sounds to me like it may have glazed a little bit though not positive. Agian, the factor that would determine that would be how you drove it in its break-in period.

Re: major problem
#1 Was the clutch broken in properly?
#2 was teh flywheel properly two stepped? If the answer to either is no, then you need a new clutch. Also I dont think the warantee covers a burnt clutch. It only covers manufacturers defects.

Re: major problem
So you didnt have the flywheel two stepped when you put in the new clutch?
If so thats your problem. You ALWAYS get the flywheel machined when you put in a new clutch.

Re: major problem
New clutch and machined flywheel.
You cant be pissed off at the car for you not doing the job correctly the first time. ![]() Fix it and keep driving it. To part it now would just not be a smart move in my opinion.
