Brake Booster - 1999 Grand Cherokee Limited
Well out on the prairies we hit -40 last night, I went to start my 1999 Jeep Cherokee Limited and just as I started it I heard a loud air leak coming from the brake pedal. I notice that the boot or seal on the brake booster was cracked, my question is can just the boot be replaced and how long can I drive with the air leak?

If it's ok I would replace the dust boot asap. The hissing may be normal but now audible since the boot is torn. Or if the air leak sound was a one time only event it may have been the relief valve. But for safetys sake you need to check the booster vacuum lines and the booster itself for leaks. |
