Race Seats with Head Restraints

I am looking to buy a new seat with head restraint.

Unfortunately our local race shop only carries Untrashield and Kirkey.
I am not interested in another aluminum seat.

I am 6'0 210 so I will need something wide.

I have my eye on a Raetech RT 4009 WHR.

What are you guys running ? Any recommendations ?

Doug

Panoz26,

Did you use the Racetech mounting brackets when you installed your seat ?

I would like to use my existing brackets if at all possible....

Re: Race Seats with Head Restraints

We put Racetechs in our GTSs. I'm 6'5 260# and it fits much better than the old Kirkey. Some minor welding of new bolt points is need to fit them you can't just bolt them into the old brackets. It's also a good time to install 6 point belts.

Actually, I used the existing holes, but, used the new brackets that came with my seat. Had zero issues installing it.....passenger seat was more of a challenge since there is no frame bar where it needs to be....

Re: Race Seats with Head Restraints

That's right we had to weld the bar in for the passenger seat. Driver's side went in directly.

Ditto here as well. Have the RaceTech seat in my GTS and love it. Pricey seat but so is my HANS...all worth it.
