REPOST PICS of my UIM replacement

here are some links to pics of my uim replacement and what i found when i took it off, not sure how this car was running and why none of it was showing up in the oil. also i had a lifter ticking bad during warmup that disappeared after doing this job. found bolts on UIM all loose, i cleaned them up and put thread clock (blue kind) when put back together. and of course i found split vacuum lines while doing this job. the dorman kit from autozone was great it came with everything needed and a smaller egr tube for 129.99 and talked to the guys and they gave me 10% off the entire purchase! this was an easy job so you guys who are thinking they want to save money, go for it. the part that took the lognest for me is the cleanup of LIM,lol. thanks joe.

Re: REPOST PICS of my UIM replacement

I didn't see the pic but saw only partial IMG code. I went in and edited your post removing the items before the after the photo, (there were duplicate [/IMG] together). As a result, the picture now shows up. In the future all you have to do is add the tags after, and some sites even add it for you so all you have to do is copy and paste the link. (I know www.tinypic.com does this as that is th eone I usually use, and use that function, but I'm sure there are others as well.)

EDIT: You posted your second post while I was editing your first one. Try what I suggested the next time you want to post pictures and see if that works for you. The result is that the pictures show up when the member views the thread, instead of having to click on links to see them. If you have any more questions on posting pics send me a PM.

Re: REPOST PICS of my UIM replacement

In addition to the suggestions above, if you do post the pics, please downsize them to a max size of 800 X 600 pixels for better viewing. (I downsized the pic in the first post for you). We appreciate you taking the time to post these pics; they can help many people in the same situation see what a serious problem this UIM leak can be. As mentioned, if you have any questions on how to downsize, or post pics, just send us a PM.

Bo, to add to your suggestion, I'd like to add that the site I use, www.tinypic.com has an option for the user to select the size of the photo they wish to use. There are selections for 1) avatar (100 x 75) 2) thumbnail (160 x 120) 3) website / email 320 x 240) 4) message board (640 x 480) plus options for a 15" and 17" screen. A handy tool to have while you're uploading photos. It's the option on the Upload page titled "resize".
For threads like this either option 2 or 3 would be sufficient for the pics.

Re: REPOST PICS of my UIM replacement

jbjslambert - did you drain the engine coolant before you pulled the UIM? just curious
That's how I found the valley when my '99 hydrolocked and I did drain the coolant before I started the job.
