po101 code

i have a 2000 intrigue with 135k on it. i had a bad hard start problem when it sits over nite. so the wife comes home and tells me the fuel gauge don't work and so it turned out to be the sender . so being the guy that hates to not replace something i decided heck i'll put a new fuel pump in while i'm there..
so no big deal.. car runs great for 4mos but still have the hard start..
then the crank sensor code comes up. so i replace that as well.. couple more months .. then the mass air flow code comes up. mechanic buddy check her over with scan tool says just put a new one on.. so i did runs good for a couple of weeks and then comes on again .. so i bought a genisys scan tool and it told me the po101 code was the cause so i cleaned the rubber hose intake and slapped the air filter out and tired that.. it said one of the commons cause was the fuel regulator. so replaced that... couple more days and came back on...

so what you guys think what do i try next..
thanks for any replys..
sorry for the long post..
David

Re: po101 code

David, Is the vehicle running ok though even with this code ? Reason for the question is that there is a Service Bulletin out for Re-calibrating the PCM for a false P0101 code. If you have the 3.5 L Vin "H", 8th character in the vin number. The TSB is 00-06-04-022, May 2000. It also mentioned something about false low oil pressure readings at warm up and stumble @ idle when in Park or Neutral. Hope this helps.

Re: po101 code

Unfortunately you have to go to the dealership. I do not remember but I believe the re-calibration is free. Give them the TSB #, they have to use a GM Scanner for this procedure.

Re: po101 code

Sorry about the dealer situation. Just like them to have a known problem and not fix it for free.

As far as your hard start problem, when was the last time you did a tune-up, including fuel filter ?
