2000 caravan trans leak

I have a 2000 caravan with a 3.0 v six.. it has a small trans leak coming from near the solinoid pac - the trans pan was removed and resealed about a year ago but it may be coming from that as well - I just wondered if the solinoid pack is prone to leak and if so is there a seal that can easily be replaced - also how to determine exactly where leak is coming from - any help greatly appreciated!

Re: 2000 caravan trans leak

It could be the solenoid pack and it is a common part to leak, goes for $200.00for a new one.Did the place use the black pan gasket used in the filter kits? Those gaskets are the worst pan gaskets to use and have one problem with them: THEY LEAK!I have never sen one seal up at all.The 3 and 4 speeds are known for spitting out the spider gear pin and going through the case also

Re: 2000 caravan trans leak

But when that pin flies through the trans the leak tends to be quite large.

I'd check the pan first of all. Change the fluid & filter while you're at it, and use the right ATF.
