84' Subaru GL.....NEED HELP!!!!

Yeah
I have an 84'Subaru Gl hatchback, 4 spd.
When i go to start it, it makes a sharp click noise and completely dies. All the panel lights and everything just turns off. then when i go to turn it back on, nothing turns on. I have to charge the battery back up, or let it sit for a few minutes. Ive put a new battery in it, and it still does the same thing. I have a feeling it may be the starter solenoid, but im not sure.
need help badly, need to get my car running.

This is most likely your starter. The starter solenoid is incorporated in the starter, so the only way to change it is the entire unit itself.

I took my starter apart when mine went bad. The contacts were completely worn out. Since I could not find a rebuilt kit for it I had to buy an new unit.

Good luck,

Sam
