2000 wiper problem
2000 4-runner. With the wipers on intermittent the wipers don't go to the full off position and stay there- they come back up a little bit. In other words, they make a full cycle and instead of going to the bottom of the windshield and staying until the next cycle, they come back up a little. Doesn't do it all the time, but more often than not. I can also turn the wipers off in the middle of a cycle and the wipers will stop- even if they're pointing straight up and down- instead of returning to the bottom of the windshield as they should.
Thanks in advance. |

Re: 2000 wiper problem
Practically everything associated with wiper movement is in the motor. You probably need to replace the motor if you can't live with its lack of function.

Re: 2000 wiper problem
OK. I was thinking that the motor might be controlled by a time delay relay or something for intermittent operation.

Re: 2000 wiper problem
I am basing my above statement on the method for troubleshooting wiper problems as outlined in your service manual. I may be missing something so it would be wise to read it also and double check my logic.
