Stalling problem fixed

OK, here's one to help all of you out.

Our '96 Plymouth Grand Voyager 3.3L V6 would stall. It had a new fuel pump & filter. This would be warm, at a stop, randomly.

First, I removed the IAC motor from the throttle body. It had very little crud on the pintle of it. So, I cleaned it, put it back in, & sprayed carb cleaner into the intake while it was at a fast idle. Still not fixed.

Talked to several Mechanics. The cam & crank position sensors often will flake out on these *WITHOUT* setting a code. SO, I had one of them replace the crank sensor, it's harder to get to. Still not fixed.

SO, I replaced the cam sensor myself. I had rented a scanner, and I had several times a MAP/barometer error, so I replaced the MAP sensor. I the cleared all the codes.

The stalling is now gone!

I would have looked at the TPS for glitches next, FYI.

Another problem with cam/crank sensors is one can fail and fire the code for the other and visa versa, at least on third gen vans. It's common practice for shops to change both sensors with either code. I also read starting with 97s, cam sensors are primarily used at start up, then are just used as a comparator afterwards. Chrysler just loves to keep us on our toes!

Happy to hear all is well now. So what fixed it? The cam sensor or the MAP sensor? Both can cause stalling. Maybe we'll never know.
