2000 dodge 3/4 truck headlights

Headlights are shutting off after a little use and will come back on after a few minutes. All other lights and guages are fine. Tried jiggling wires at back of switch but not it, figured it was worth a shot. All was fine until this morning. Any ideas would be very helpful. Thanks

Re: 2000 dodge 3/4 truck headlights

I read about headlight switches giving that problem some time back.
It seems the dash area near the switch would heat up and replacement fixed the problem.
Because there's a high resistance pot for dimming the dash lights and it's a source of heat, I keep my dash lights as bright as they'll get...just past the 1st detent on the control wheel to keep the pot out of the circuit.
Do you have any other lights connected to the headlight circuit? The headlight switch just does barely have enough "stuff" to keep the headlights lit.
