Please let me know any specific things I need to look for when purchasing a GTRA. I am going on Friday 12 Dec. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Going to look at a GTRA
things I would look for....
fuel pump grinding or making odd noises, they are normally LOUD, but should not grind of "rev" up and down brake rotors, they can be pricey to replace @ $400 each wheel leaking axles seals, not expensive but a PITA if possible check the front hubs for cracks, bearing play. Hours on the motor/car? condition of body panels. Some GTRA's had ERW tubing which is NOT allowed in some race classes or even open lapping/HPDE events transmission shifts through the gears smoothly without grinding. not blowing any smoke when started or running power steering rack play Fiberglass vs ABS body, I think the ABS is a better setup, mine is fiberglass and it is very fragile! Justa few things you may want to look at,

Re: Going to look at a GTRA
Fang,
We are heading to Florida on Friday as well. Will be at Sebring for the weekend. If you have time stop buy. I have a Fiberglass car and Pomroy as a plastic car. Having another Panoz in town will be cool. Cell 706-399-1017 David, |

Re: Going to look at a GTRA
The reason I ask the "what's it for" is because of the ERW rollbar tubing, most now require DOM tubing, although these may grandfather in.

Re: Going to look at a GTRA
Gary Jones is also selling his school car. He's in Augusta GA. You can check out his web site at Gary Jones Motorsports. I think his GT-RA will be listed for $15k. His cars are in great shape. A buddy of mine purchased another GT-RA from his shop, and was very happy with it.

Re: Going to look at a GTRA
Cobrafang, did you buy your car yet? If not there is an RA on the west coast which was just dropped to $13.5K. Very, very good price! Let me know and I can put you in touch. The seller is a super honest guy.

Re: Going to look at a GTRA
I tried to get to his site, but there was nothing listed on Cars for Sale. Do you know if he still has the panoz GTRA? Is his shop still located in Hepzibah?
