'03 Silverado 1500HD P0202 Code

My wife was driving the truck this afternoon, and she called to tell me that the check engine light came on, and there was a message that said "reduced engine power". (or something similar)

She said that the truck seemed to run fine, but it would not "go". She stopped and that is when she called me.

I called a shop close to my office and that mechanic said it sounded like a gas pedal sensor (??) He said to turn the truck off, let it sit a minute, and see if I still had the problem.

I turned the truck off, let it sit a minute, and started it back up. Seemed to run fine, the "reduced engine power message" went away, but the check engine light stayed on. The truck seemed to run just fine.

I had a scan done at a local shop, (by my house, different shop than above) and the tool gave a couple of messages. One was a TP and APP failsafe (I believe that was what it said)

Then the mechanic told me that it had a P0202 code. He cleared the code, and the light has not come back on. He said he would have to call to see what the P0202 code was.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

You need to find a repair shop that knows what they are doing.
202 is a problem on injector no 2

Check around Ask around
Word of mouth.
Family friends coworkers neighbors business people and delivery people.
Mailmen and parcel delivery people get around and notice a lot of stuff.
Even a good parts house knows what shops are good and not good.
Chamber of commerce and better business bureau and city hall.
If you find a good referral to a repair shop go look them over and talk to them.
Look for a clean looking busy place with nice people running it.
Ask a few questions and ask about their qualifications and training.
Not all places have trained tech/mechanics.
If they do not find a place that does.
Even all dealers do not have all trained techs/mechanics.
