Which engine? Only when braking?
Components in play that effect engine idle when decelerating are the powertrain control module (PCM), idle air control (IAC) valve, vehicle speed sensor (VSS), throttle position sensor (TPS), and the mainifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor.
