2004 Forester XT - Turbo Failure?

I have a 2004 Forester XT with 140,000KM. Recently I head a grinding noise that sounds like metal on metal and it feels like I am loosing performance. Can someone tell me what turbo failure sounds like and the symptoms? Also how bad will this be to fix and any other options? I'm thinking of dumping the car quickly before it goes on me an I'm stuck with the bill.

Re: 2004 Forester XT - Turbo Failure?

My Forester 2004 XT started with an odor inside heater-to car and Dealer states 1700.00 to replace turbo its not a fixable unit.Part is 1100 bucks and do the math. Crap I may go aftermarket and get another 100 horsepower
