I have a 2000 Crown Vic Police car gas Gauge does not work

Hi can anyone Help me with this the gas gauge stays on E mark all the time it is not getting power back to the tank but when you start the car the gas gauge moves a little but always stays on the E mark any help would be nice thanks

If you know which wire is the problem use a short piece of copper wire and ground the wire. The gage should peg. The float has a resister in it which moves the gage. If the gage doesn't move when the wire is grounded ohm the wire from the gage to the plug on the top of the tank. If it is good replace the gage.
