lift kit and tire question

just a quick question for any one who knows this. Can you get 38in tires under a 98 k1500 with just a 6 in suspension lift good?

My neighbor does truck lifts for a living. He said the six inch suspension lift would not work. He said you would need to add a 3 inch body lift with the 3 inch suspension lift. He also noted your front end will take a beating with the 38's.

I have the same set up on my 98 for six years and the only problem i have had is the cv Halfshafts kept breaking, but i installed spacers and know its a thing of the past.
