Problem with PT Cruiser and fuses
Ok, a few days ago when the temp dropped to 12 degree's, the wife's battery in her PT cruiser was killed.
Her friend decided to help and jump the car, but when he did he accidently mixed the jumper cables, hooking the power to neg, and the neg to the power on his car. He hooked the red to the power on the PT, and the neg to body, causing a nice set of sparks going everywhere..... So, I come home, try to jump it... it turned over once, then clicked.... I replaced the ignition 40A pink fuse with the spare and she started albight roughly.... Now here is the problem. The odometer is flashing the Miliage, then "NO FUSE" then back to mileage, then repeating over again. I have no power door locks, no remote entry, no dome light, no radio. everything else works, headlights, heater, brights, dash lights, back up lights, brakes.... I took the #10 30A Green fuse out which is for the locks, remote entry etc... but here comes the problem.... the fuse is good. why am I missing these power options if the fuse is good, and why is the odometer flashing "no fuse?" Is the wiring fried, how can I tell? thanks

Re: Problem with PT Cruiser and fuses
If you're sure you've checked ALL the fuses, then you might have a blown fuse link. I'm not sure if and where they use them in the PT/Neon. You'll probably need to find a wiring diagram and start your search there.
You don't mention what year the PT is, but you might be able to find a wiring diagram on AutoZone's website in the Repair Information section. You could also move this thread to the Chrysler PT Cruiser forum as they may have specifics on what to check for the "No fuse" indication. -Rod |
