Fabulous Toyota Hiace VIP

Here's my latest build which won 3rd in the OOB group in our local competition

It was build basically box stock aside from Aoshima wheels. The paint is a metallic black nailpolish with an automotive 2k clear coat. let me know what you guys think! this was a fun quick build, everything went on perfectly and the adjustable suspension height is great!

Very well executed, the rims suits the theme well altough it is not my style. Nice shine also!

Re: Fabulous Toyota Hiace VIP

thanks for the encouragement guys! have a couple of old school toyotas on the table now this was a fun relaxing project after building a full detail model. will get some outdoor shots as soon as I get the chance and maybe the metallic paint will come out better there.

To this day i still don't see how you guys make nail polish look so good on models! Nice smooth finish.

Re: Fabulous Toyota Hiace VIP

thanks midmazar! nail polish behaves exactly the same way as automotive laquers (except it dries a lot quicker and dries flat) so the painting process is just the same. I like it since its a lot cheaper, and you get more colors off the shelf
