I bought a 2005 Yukon XL SLT a few weeks ago and when I was cycling through the steering wheel buttons, I could find no way to display the instant fuel economy. In fact, it appears that GM changed the available things in the DIC for the 2005 model year - there are none of the past features such as business and personal trip odometers, timers, etc. All it shows is range, avg fuel econ, oil%, gal used, odo, trip a & b, tpm, and eng hrs.

Does anyone know why GM would remove some of those neat feature? What if I were to get an 04 cluster and install it? Would it contain the old DIC or is that entirely dictated by the PCM or BCM and the display just shows what the computer feeds it?
