Esci Lancia Beta shape/dimensional problems?

While surfing I found this page:

which had the following to say about the old Esci Lancia Beta model:

"NOTE 2: The Uhl version is a replica of a former plastic kit of Ertl/ESCI and is not at the correct proportions, only 72mm wide in front and 80mm in rear."

About the resin kit by Modeler's it says:

"NOTE : In 2000 Japan's Modeler's released the nearly perfect model car version of the Lancia Beta Montecarlo (version 1980), now with the correct proportions and lots of fotoetch details. Unfortunately the firm went bankrupt and the model is hard to find (on EBay, where it reached recently € 165.00). IMCA will release next year a resin version 76mm wide in front and 84.5mm wide in rear."

It may explain why Modeler's made a resin version in the first place, I never understood that until now.

I've had the Esci model for more than 10 years, and by now I'm so used to it, that it defines the shape of a Group 5 Beta for me. Does anyone where the errors are, in the basic (street) body or the widened fenders? Anyone here with both the Esci and Modeler's versions? I checked two older threads on the Esci Beta, and there were no comments on the shape.

I own both. They're identical to me, if you want I say more, to me Modeler's beta is done on the Esci base. Ita has widened a pillar and different back window, and it is filled inside. BTW I'm courious now, I must do some misurement.
