widebody itr progress

since there's not much happening on the boards lately, i decided to post my latest project. i decided to put the widebody mr2 and hks altezza on hold as other members are currently undertaking those projects. hopefully this project will be done in time and make it into the itr contest. there's goinig to be some pretty fierce competition for this contest as this car is very popular among members of this board. this is my attempt to raise the bar .

this is pretty much a rough cut of what i plan on doing... just to make sure the body lines flow properly before i do any final sanding and smoothing out. as you can see, there are quite a bit of voids left still and to be honest, this thing is going to need alot more work. i plan on putting on some mirrors such as the ones pictured below on this kit as well. don't know if it'll look right but we'll see... anyhow, the color scheme is to be metallic blue and silver.

Thank God you know what you are doing with this kit!!!! A REAL widebody!!!!!1 I am tired of seeing all these people who flare their fenders with stick on fiberglass and call it a widebody when they can't even run a bigger wheel than before their widebody attempt!! If you make a widebody you need to be able to run wider wheels hince the term WIDEBODY, so to sum it up.......GREAT JOB on this kit, keep it up!!!!! I can't wait to see it finished!! I did this same style widebody on my fujimi Integra I built 2 or 3 years ago but yours makes mine look like crap so good job

thanks for the comments guys ! this thing originally started out as a test project to challenge myself to create something utilizing all the 'how to' threads on here and plop them all into a hodge-podge of mods. fortunately it turned out fairly decent .

i don't know what to do about wheels yet. i messed up all the wheels that i have taking off the chrome plating. but fortunately daggerlee was willing to send me a set of his unused rims! :flash: thanks dan!! flash: can't wait for them to get here so i can see how they look on this thing!

brian:
the rear valance/diffuser is just a small piece of plastic laid over the area where the spare tire should be. however, you'll need to cut out that area and lay some pieces of styrene so that you'll get the right clearance from the bumper. i needed to cut out this area anyway just to get the exhaust cans in there. hope this makes sense.

here are some more pix:
