Stalls

33000 miles 2001 escape 3.0 6v

After starting the escape it idles down and is idleing fine but when you either step on the gas or put in gear the car stalls right away. What could cause this to happen? Thanks for any help

I did a search on this forum using the word STALLING, the posts referred to either a vacuum leak or a faulty IAC. (Idle AIR Control Valve)

Hope this helps

Re: Stalls

The IAC on this car is an orifice that needs to be cleaned. Spray cleaner works fine but you may have to repeat the process 2 or 3 times. Do Not poke at the hole, you may make it too large. I bet your car Idles around 500 to 600 RPM
