Welcome to AF.

Please post the engine size and year Alero.

When was the last tuneup? Spark plugs?

BOB...it looks like a 2.2 4 banger. For some reason, im thinking its the PCV valve. What are your thoughts on that?

Re: engine light flashing and missfiring

With the misfires I'd check the plug/wires/coil/ICM.

If those are newr then it could possibly be an injector crappin out.

With the trac light(s) you'll need an ABS capable scan tool to read the trouble codes. Most likly a wheel speed sensor pretty typical of N bodies.

Re: engine light flashing and missfiring

My 2001, manual V4 with 105,000 just started doing this same thing today. I was driving on the road and I could feel the car begin to misfire. Then my Service Engine Soon & TRAC lights came on with the Service Engine Soon light flashing. I'm taking it to my mechanic tomorrow and I'll post what he did to fix it and the price.
