Oil capacity

What is the oil capacity for a 2000 Mitsubishi Mirage, 1.8?

Oh, that would be the amount of oil it holds!



But seriously, your auto parts store ought to be able to tell you, and better still sell you a Chilton or Haynes manual for use with the health and maintenance of the car. If you have the owner’s manual the information should be in there as well.

Just checked my manual but it only covers up to 1990, but on those models, including the 1.8 it lists the capacity at approximately 4.2 US Quarts. I can't imagine that has changed any, but still it would be best if you indepndently confirm that, or, failing that, just pour in 3 or so then go slowly and keep checking the level, though my money is on 4.2.

My daughter's '00 1.8 takes 4 with the filter change.

4 quarts is the spec. if you have more than that your crankshaft "whiplash" with the oil causing to smoke and poor performance. There is windage tray to prevent it but if overfill its not good
