venture fan switch to the heater

i am trying to find out if there are a lot of people who have had problems with the fan switch to the heather. my best friends caught on fire. the thing is her brother bought a venture at the same time she did, his fan switch did the same thing about a year ago. they both own 2004 ventures. any ideas, or anyone hear of there being a lot of problems like that? seems odd that 2 people in the same family have the same problem.
