1998 Bravada destroyed transfer case

I recently purchased a 98 bravada and had a few issues.
The shift cable snapped on me and i just got the new one in today, while removing the old cable, i dropped the transfer case skid plate and got the shock of my life. The transfer case has a hole 1 1/2 inches by 5 inch hole in the bottom of the transfer case, to where the chain wore through the casing, so now that i know the previous owner was a completly full of it( said t-case was replaced a year ago). But now im looking for a used one since i cant see putting 1000 into a truck i bought for 2k. I found a 96 t-case with low miles but am unsure if it will work or not, which t-cases will fit a 98 bravada with the np-136?
Any information will be great, thanks in advance

That would be a neat trick if it'll fit plus you'd be getting away from the encoder motor deal...the '96 Bravada cases are viscous clutch/non-electric.
