Signal Mayhem - sunfire.
Wierdest thing..
My girlfriends sunfire's right turn signal works as it should, her left however, is going haywire on me. Ive found that. When the headlights come on, now does the left turn signal.. on the cluster, when you toggle the turn signal, it blinks and clicks at twice the speed of normal the sidemarker blinker still works fine at normal pace the EXT LMP fuse controls the left signal now. when the headlights are on, the left arrow in the cluster stays lit, as it is in the front of the car. Like i said, the right turn signal works great.. Could this be a relay? do different relays control the left and right blinker? if so, i dont know where to find the relay so any help is appritiated. Thanks guys EDITTTTT: NOW THE RIGHT TURN SIGNAL IS CLICKING AND BLINKING TWICE AS FAST AS NORMAL. HOWEVER THE RIGHT FOG LIGHT / BLINKER IS NOT DOING WHAT THE LEFT ONE IS AS EXPLAINED ABOVE. SOMETHING MUST BE ON ITS WAY OUT. |

Re: Signal Mayhem - sunfire.
Fast flashing turn signals is 90% of the time due to a bulb being burned out.
I don't know what year your car is, I know I should... but i don't. ha ha... Next option... welcome to the world of failing j-body headlight harnesses. Tear it all out and go over it with a fine tooth comb and look for ANY cuts/nicks/ or anywhere the plastic coating is exposing the wire and replace that section. Solder and heat shirt a new wire in...

Re: Signal Mayhem - sunfire.
If it's not a bulb- then could be a bad body ground or bad bulb connection to ground- lights that light up when not supposed to are backfeeding-there is a common ground that is not grounding to the body- and current flows the most direct path back to ground- clean your headlamp and parklamps grounds- corrosion can eat them up.....
