Re: heater problems

1st thing to do is this.
Apparently I'm the only one this has happened to.

Get a friend to sit in the passenger seat.
Look under the dash on the driver side.
Have your friend turn the temp control knob back and forth. (car doesn't have to be on)
You should see a lever moving back and forth when he does that.
There's a wire that connects to a plastic nub on it. Mine broke off. That's why I ask you to check this 1st.

To fix it is easy. Just put a nut&bolt through the wire and hole in the lever.

If the wire didn't break off, it could be your core or thermostat.

Re: heater problems

I have an 01 GT and I am having the same problem. It can be idling forever and the heater never heats up, but as soon as I start driving it will work fine. But then as soon as I slow down or come to a stop, its back to cold.

I have the same thing, an 01 GT, with the same exact problem. It's not all that big of a deal most of the time, since I live in southern Louisiana. It's just a little bit of an annoyance.
