96 Chevy 1500 fuel pump problems
After acidently putting 1.5 gallons of water in the fuel tank, the fuel pump finally quit. I replaced the fuel pump, harness (which was fried), strainer and filter and fuel filter. Drained all the fuel, added new gas, went to start and no power to the pump. The fuse was blown. Replace the fuse and the new fuse blew. Now have a 30 amp fuse in which has not blown but any advice is appreciated.

Re: 96 Chevy 1500 fuel pump problems
Your fuel pump circuit is pulling to many amps.
Jump the gray wire to fuel pump with a 20 amp fused jumper. If it blows drop tank and check wiring to pump. If good replace the fuel pump with a ac delco/delphi fuel pump. After market and airtex pumps are junk. Good Luck
