1959 Ferrari 250 TdF LM #11

1:43 BBR kit, homemade decals, I also added additional lights in the front, rear license plate, and bug screens on the hood. Pretty straightforward build, but the car looks great IMO. Thanks for all who contributed reference photos.

Beautiful car, and beautiful work as always. The scale is a bit small, though!

I always like seeing 1:43 kits...after all, that's where I started! Excellent work on this one; I never would've guessed the scale had I not been told.

Beautiful model.
The finish is impressive given the 1:43 scale!

Very nice work Alex. The BBR looks better than the AMR when finished.

Very, very nice, an extremely high quality finish! The windscreen looks like it is attached from the outside. How did you achieve such a glue free finish especially in 1:43? I have a couple to do like this and am a bit wary of doing the glass, even with Micro Kristal Klear!

Tom, that is what I thought too when I finished it. I went back to look at that photo of Suber model on F-Chat, and decided that BBR kit looks better. I did some mods to it though, BBR kit was covered headlight, long nose, 3-louver version that I converted to open headlight, short nose 1-louver:

Kristal Klear will not work here. I used CA (superglue), that is the only glue that will hold. Make sure you use very little glue, and make sure it is thin, instant bond type. You have to be VERY precise when gluing the windshield to the body, cause if you misplace it, you'll ruin the finish forever. tricky, but doable :-)

Thanks!
