Temp guage and voltmeter guage

Just bought a 97 ram 4x4 with 318 motor with a few bugs to work out. The temp guage and voltmeter guage are not working. Both are all the way down to the left. All the other guages are working. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks for the help in advance.

had same problem in 96 1ton,had bad diode in alternator,might check it out
