91 Regal wont start

IVe read several post and some have similar problems but cant find one that matches exactly. I have a 91 buick regal with 249000miles, 130is on the current engine. I recently got a new pickup and the regal sat for a few months before i got around to getting rid of it. Tried to start it and couldnt. Using an new battery the engine cranks weakly but the starter still turns. Its a 3800 and a pain in the A$$ to pull it out to have checked. is there any things else that i could do that could do or check before pulling the starter when it seems to work. Been sitting sence August if this helps.
