not sure if i need a new trannie, any ideas

my van quit runnin on the expressway. the only sings of a problem was a rare occasional hard shift from park to drive and a recent slip from second to third. the fluid is clean. its starts up fine but all gears just sounds like nuetral. i am hopin it is not the trannie. any suggestion?

Unfortuantly, of course it is the tranny, that's the only thing between the engine and the wheels.
I'm having trouble with mine too :-(
