RSX Type S We went to an Acura dealership in Costa Mesa, I think, to test drive the RSX-S. The salesguy was kinda uptight, so only my friend got to drive. I can tell you, the backseat is not a fun place to be for more than 10 minutes. Overall, I really wasn't as impressed with it as I though I was going to be. RSX = mehBut, in the showroom, they had four NSXs!!! Red, Black, Silver and Yellow. None were open for me to sit in, though. But it was nice seeing them all lined up. Also, in the lot, they had a black C4 Corvette ZR-1. That thing was totally sweet!!! ![]() Impreza WRX Next we went to a Subaru dealership in Irvine. We test drove a WRX sedan, and I got to go first. This car is awesome!!! This car has stolen my heart. If it appears as a coupe, or when the STi version gets here, or both... I'm in trouble... The funny part was, when I pulled over to switch seats with my friend so he could drive it back, some guys in an RSX pulled up next to us to ask us how to get to the Subaru dealership. LOL! :hehe: I guess we were helping them sell cars. :right:348 tb We just happend to see a yellow 348tb parked outside a high-end home entertainment place. Just though it was worth mentioning. It was nice, and the alarm beeped at us the whole time we were looking at it. ![]() Minis That night, we went to a Mini owner's meeting in Lakewood (near Long Beach). It was great! We sat in on the meeting, blah blah blah, then one guy put in a video of him doing laps on the road course in Fontana. I was amazed at how agile it seemed. It sounded good, too. The camera was fixed, so I couldn't see much of the interior, other than to see that it had a full rollcage and only a driver's seat. Then the meeting ended and we went outside. There were like a dozen Minis! There were Minis, Mini Coopers, Mini Cooper Ss, Austin Minis and Austin Coopers. The oldest was 1965, I think, and the newest was 2000. There were both RHD and LHD models. Two of them were Mini Woody Wagons. Very Cool! And all the guys were totally cool, too. They were all very proud and enthusiastic to show off their cars. After about an hour of chatting in the parking lot, they offered to give us rides, but only one at a time. Somehow the two wagons got chosen as the demo cars. I rode with a guy who had a red Mini Woody (LHD) with a super-nice wood dash. I was really surprised at how comfortable the Minis are! I'm 6'1" and I fit just fine, with plenty of headroom. The best part was, the guy wouldn't start the car until he had is gloves on! LOL!!! ![]() So, we pull out on the street, and he's already got the thing cooking. I really doubt he ever let the pedal off the floor, except when stopping at the lights. The light turns green and he starts zooming down the street, telling me a story about the time he gave a Porsche a run for it's money on a nice twisty mountain road. Heh. As his story ends, I realize: a. there's a 90° right turn ahead b. he's not slowing down and c. I have nothing to hang on to. So be it. He take the corner at about 45 mph with barely any squeak from the tires. OMG!!! I'm freaking amazed at this point, he's chuckling as we fly over some railroad tracks, then he busts out a U-turn from the left lane at 40mph with no warning! Holy crap!!! This car is awesome!!! So we're on our way back, and he's explaining how forgiving the car is when handling, as long as you stay on the gas. "Just point it where you want to go." So he demonstrates with giant zig-zags onto the wrong side of the street and back at the curb on our side of the street. I think I felt the back end come loose once.Needless to say, I'm totally impressed with the Mini now. When I get to a point in my life where I can have an extra car, just for fun, I know what it'll be. :flash:Mini = FUNNEST CAR EVER |

Can you believe how big 10" wheels are? HOLY CRAP!!!
Minis make my wife's ECHO look like a fat-ass giant. ![]() Oh, yeah... I took pics at the Mini Meet, but the light was bad, so I don't expect many good ones.

Lol
![]() ![]() I know, the wheels are TINY!! I'm already planning what mine'll look like ![]() Yellow, with black hood and padlocks....j/k ![]() ![]() Nah, I'd get a black one or something, with the chrome hood stripes and black/chrome checker roof, off-white leather seats, black plush carpet, wood dash, wire stone guards for the headlights, center dual exhaust, twin gas tanks, etc... BTW, come to think of it, something is making me think that Mini I sat in had a bench seat too.....and it had the same fabric as '80's Crown Vics....

Get the bank of rally lights, too. There was a '99 Mini that had them, and they make like daylight. WOW!!!
I sat in the '00 Mini and the one I rode in. The '00 had "bucket" seats that were more like a split bench seat. The Wagon I rode in had custom front bucket seats and seat belts. :flash: |

Mine would look very much like this one, except different interior, and full roof fabric sunroof

Jay, how often do you go test drive cars?
![]() It seems like every other day. Don't they get sick of you? I'd like to go take a couple cars for a test drive, but with out a credit card, I doubt they'd let me!

We wanted to do the WRX in particular, because it was cordoned off at the show, and we only got to check out the WRX wagon.

Sorry, that's not what I meant, I'll shorten
"...We test drove a WRX sedan...If it appears as a sedan..."
