Yamaha YZR-M1 Laguna Seca 2005 - # 46 -V. Rossi - Tamiya - 1/12

Hi, first time I post here. My name is Tom. I'm 25 years old and I live in Belgium. In modelling my interest go to 1/12 th scale MotoGP bikes. Especialy the ones of Valentino 'The Doctor' Rossi. At the moment I'm working on the 2006 M1, but due to some paint issues that project is on hold.

Here is my latest finished built. The Yamaha YZR-M1 2005 (Laguna Seca)

For more of my models, go check my website at www.tom-maenen.be

Hope you like it!

Tom

Very nice. I think that some of the CF decals are a tad bit out of scale but no bigger problem. Nice touch with the separated tank dummy. Thumbs up.

ps. Welcome by the way

Hey Tom, welcome.

Ik ken ondertussen het model al en ben nog steeds bezig met de 2004 versie.

Translation: I know the model and I'm working on the 2004 model for the moment.

Super build! I agree with Joel about the CF (I never like the 1/12 SMS decals) but otherwise it's great!

Very nice build! Do you use photoetched for brake disks?

Looks fantastic. I like what you've done with the fuel tank. First time I've seen someone do that...very clever.

No this are just the Tamiya braking disks. Only the ring in the middle of the disk is PE.

About the CF decals... I've seen his before, the sms 1/12th scale decal is not that good, I ain't gonna use this in the futere anymore. Thanks for the tips and comments!

Out of curiosity, what kind of carbon fiber decals does everyone use for the bikes?

I've used Studio27 and sms carbon decals.

Hey Tom! Welcome aboard and congratulations for that beautiful bike!

I agree with you, In my opinion those decals are a little bit out of scale. I used them before and I'm already thinking which decals are the best to get nowadays... I also used Modeler's and they are very good.

Hope you could solve the problems of paint and we could see soon that 2006 M1.

Roca.

very clean build Tom - don't worry about the carbon decal scale - looks very good. I have this kit to build as well and you replica will be a good reference - was there a reason you only had finished pictures - John
