91 Bravada won't stay in park
Hi! As the title says, I have a 91 Bravada that won't stay in park. Is there an easy way to adjust the cable? There are more issues that I will be asking you guys for direction on, but this one is my primary pain right now.
Thanks! |

I'll look at mine tomorrow to see if it's cable or linkage.

Re: 91 Bravada won't stay in park
You've got linkage.
It's rare the linkage gets out of adjustment, have you installed another trans. or installed motor mounts lately? |

Re: 91 Bravada won't stay in park
Apologize for the late rep[ly, I am not getting email updates for the post. The answer to your question is no, I have not. I just bought this vehicle about a month ago. Whether or not a previous owner changed anything, I don't know. When I boought it, it had been in a front end collision, and i had to replace the drivers side fender, the hood, the bumper, and the hood hinge on the passenger side. I wonder if it got knocked out of place in the wreck. If it warms up above freezing here anytime soon, I will jack it up and take a closer look.
Thanks! |

Re: 91 Bravada won't stay in park
The shift pattern is 7 positions so after loosening the bolt on the rod lock on the shift linkage under the truck, rotate the shift ear on the trans either full clockwise or full counter clockwise then back 4 detents...that'll have you in Overdrive then put your column shifter in Overdrive and tighten the bolt on the rod lock.
