Question 2000 grand am int. light not working drivers side

2000 grand am when you open the drivers door the int light does not go on .. also the Door Lock Actuator is not working on this side of the car .. are they connected in some way ? this is my girls car and she does not feel safe with it at night .. she said the Door Lock Actuator went out some time ago and her dad replaced it but the new actuator didnt have a spot for the rod to go into for the int light and her dad didnt hook that back up ? does this sound right .. i have never been into one of these where the int light is connected to the same unit .. thanks

Re: 2000 grand am int. light not working drivers side

i have a 93 GA. i recently replaced the harness from the dash back. in mine they are connected. take the door panel off, remove the plastic cover. feel your way all the way to the end of the door, where the door jam is, you cant see it, so you have to feel for it. mine had two wire connectors, they are at the very end of the harness. check to see if they are both connected, if you have only one, check it. that should be where your problem is. let me know if I'm wrong.

Thier should also be a relay, and or fuse for each side of the doors locks.

You're probly going to have to pull the door panel and look and see if anything is disconnected.

But I'd say it was the wrong door actualtor if it didnt have the spot for the rod to connect.
